Table ronde publique sur le réemploi de matériaux

How to bring reuse of construction materials to the next level ?
Local legislation is increasingly encouraging sustainable building practices. Reuse fulfills all the criteria we need to address to meet our climate objectives: waste reduction, grey energy reduction, minimized material extraction, but also relocation of work, enhancement of the built heritage… More and more architects are looking at the approach and trying to implement reused materials in their projects. Some emblematic projects have also demonstrated the feasibility of the practice. However, reuse is still struggling to take a prominent place in the art of building and we are still far from having made it the norm.

Why is this so?
What are the obstacles to a large-scale implementation of the approach?
During this discussion, we will address these questions with actors involved at different levels of the reuse scene. From dismantling and making materials available, to the urban and political scale.
